Steven Hollenhorst is Director of the Building Sustainable Communities
Initiative at the University of Idaho. He is also professor and
Associate Dean for Outreach and Engagement in the College of Natural
Resources. He also oversees the National Park Service Visitor Services
Project, and UI’s McCall Outdoor Science School (MOSS). He is co-editor
of the international academic journal Society and Natural Resources. His
teaching and research focus on protected area policy and management;
land trusts and conservation easements; and environmental leadership. He
received his B.S. and M.S. from the University of Oregon, and his Ph.D.
from The Ohio State University.
