Sandra Pinel, AICP, is Assistant Professor of Sustainable Community and Regional Planning at the University of Idaho. She holds a joint appointment in the Department of Conservation Social Sciences and the Building Sustainable Communities Initiative.
Dr. Pinel holds an M.S. and Ph.D in Urban and Regional Planning from the University of Wisconsin, Madison and has 20 plus years of professional community and program development experience with tribal, local, state, and federal agencies in New Mexico, Minnesota, and through the National Rural Development Council. She publishes on community identity and planning and came to Idaho with her family from St. Paul, Minnesota.
