Elaine Clegg is an Idaho native and has been an activist in growth
management issues in the Boise area since 1984. She was president of
Boise’s North End Neighborhood Association and a leader in establishing the
Hull’s Gulch Nature Preserve. Elaine was named Idaho Smart Growth Co-Director
in May 1998, she moved into the role of Special Projects Director in July
of 2006. Clegg was elected to the Boise City Council in 2003 and reelected
in 2007.
Elaine has a keen interest in the role of transportation in
sustainability and represents the Boise City Council on the Community
Planning Association of Southwest Idaho and the Valley Regional Transit
Boards of Directors. She also serves as a member of the board of the
Surface Transportation Policy Partnership based in Washington D.C.
She has a B.A. from Boise State University, and is a professional graphic designer.
